Privacy Policy

I am the sole author running this site myself. I collect the smallest amount of information needed to do what you asked, and nothing more.

What I collect, and why

Your email address

Collected when you request the free guide, Resonance, Not Attraction, or subscribe to Sanctuary by email. Used only to send you that guide, the Sanctuary letter if you subscribe, and a small number of related follow-up emails. Handled through Kit (formerly ConvertKit). Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.

Your mailing address

Collected only if you subscribe to the printed Sanctuary tier, only to address and mail your letter. It is never sold, rented, shared, or used for anything else.

Payment information

Handled entirely by Stripe. I never see or store your card number, expiry date, or CVC. Stripe's own privacy policy governs that data.

Anything else

This site does not use tracking cookies, ad pixels, or analytics scripts that build a profile of you. Standard web server logs (IP address, browser type) may be kept briefly by GitHub Pages, which hosts this site, under GitHub's own privacy policy — I do not access these for marketing purposes.

What I do not do

I do not sell your information to anyone, for any reason. I do not share it with advertisers. If you send me a story in response to my invitation to share one, you are agreeing that I may share it anonymously — with no name and no identifying details — in a Sanctuary letter, on this website, or in my social media posts and other promotion. If you would rather I keep it private, say so in your message. You can ask me at any time to stop using it, and I will stop using it in anything new; letters already printed and mailed cannot be recalled. Anything else you write to me — a question, a refund request, a private note — stays private, and I will ask before quoting it.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time what information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Reach me through the contact form on ottoaligned.com and I will handle it personally, usually within a few days.

The content

Everything here — the free guide, the book, and the Sanctuary letters — reflects my own study, understanding, and Christian conviction. It is offered for spiritual encouragement and reflection. It is not professional counseling, therapy, medical advice, financial advice, or a guarantee of any outcome in your life. If you are dealing with a crisis of any kind, please seek a qualified professional or pastor directly.

Intellectual property

The text of the free guide, the book, and the Sanctuary letters is my own copyrighted work. You're welcome to quote short passages with attribution, or share a copy of the free guide with a friend as-is. Reproducing, reselling, or republishing the material in full without permission is not permitted.

Age

This site is intended for adults. If you are under 18, please review this with a parent or guardian before subscribing to anything that involves payment.

Changes

I may update these terms occasionally as the business grows. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the most recent version. Continuing to use the site or your subscription after a change means you accept the update.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada, where I live and operate this site.

Refund Policy

The free guide

Costs nothing, so there is nothing to refund.

The book

Purchased through Amazon, and covered by Amazon's own return policy, not mine.

Sanctuary — billing

Monthly, on the day you started, through Stripe. Your card statement will show OTTOALIGNED.COM.

Sanctuary — cancelling

Any time, from your subscription page — enter the email address you subscribed with and Stripe sends you a sign-in link. You will not be charged again, and you will still receive the letter for the month you have already paid for. If you would rather just tell me, use the contact form on ottoaligned.com and I will cancel it that week.

Sanctuary — refunds

If you subscribe and it is not what you hoped for, use the contact form on ottoaligned.com within thirty days of your first charge and I will refund that month. I issue refunds the same day you ask, but banks typically take five to ten business days to put the money back on your card — Stripe will email you the moment it is sent.

Missing print issues

If a printed letter goes missing in the post, tell me and I will send another at no charge.
